Guided Tour – Yew Chung Primary School

On Wednesday 28th Apr 2010, 8 students and 3 teachers of the Global Art After-School Activity from Yew Chung Primary School visited Moon Gallery and explored in the Kim Joong Sik’s solo exhibition.
During the guided tour, the students were introduced to the paintings of the renowned Korean artist. Various issues were being explained and discussed among the group, including the “pop art” genre, techniques used by Kim and possible interpretations of the images. The children were all excited about the pop-icons and the meticulously hand-painted dots on the canvas. They were also inspired by the idea of new meets old and east meets west. After the discussion the students chose their favorite works of Kim to sketch and they all enjoyed the time at the Gallery.
