“Imaginary”: Japanese Contemporary Art Exhibition

This holiday season, Moon Gallery proudly presents “Imaginary – Japanese Contemporary Art Exhibition”, an exhibition featuring six exciting young Japanese contemporary artists Aiko Higuchi, Kazunari Hirota, En Kato, Taeko Maezawa, Mamiko Minamidate and Ayaka Shinjo.
Six Japanese artists explore the theme of Imaginary to create a group of works that truly capture our imagination.
Aiko Higuchi paints about the Japanese women situation in the consumer and capitalist society. Kazunari Hirota re-constructs Japanese cultural Icon to create poetic yet iconic images. En Kato’s works are fill with traditional Japanese feminine touch. Taeko Maezawa explore the fairy tale like characters, bring us into a colourful fantasy world. Mamiko Minamidate’s sentimental paintings truly touch everyone’s heart. Ayaka Shinjo’s works show the unique beauty of modern Japanese ink painting.
